In PO3, your hard work isn't just a checked box—it’s a physical reward. This guide explains what Gems are, how they are created, and why they look the way they do.

💎 What is a Gem?

A Gem is the tangible reward artifact generated every time you complete a task. Unlike traditional productivity apps that use abstract progress bars, PO3 uses a physics engine to make your accomplishments feel "real." Gems stack, roll, and collide inside your Gem Box, creating a visual legacy of your focus.

🎨 Why do Gems look different?

The appearance of a Gem tells a story about the task you completed:

  • Color & Sprite: The visual style and color of a Gem are determined by its Life Area (e.g., Work, Health, or Personal).

  • Size & Weight: The size and physical mass of a Gem are tied to the Difficulty of the task. Larger, "heavier" tasks produce larger Gems that take up more space in your box.

  • Custom Sprites: Pro users can personalize their experience by uploading custom PNG sprites for each Life Area, making their Gem collection truly unique.

  • Leaden Gems: If a task is completed significantly late, it may appear as a "Leaden Gem" (grayscale), signaling overdue work within your archive.

🕹️ Interacting with your Gems

Your Gem Box isn't just for looking at—it's interactive:

  • View Details: Double-click any Gem in your box to see the task title, its Life Area, the difficulty level, and the date it was completed.

  • Physics Interaction: You can "shake" the box to see your gems tumble and rearrange.

  • Visual History: Gems stay in your box permanently (unless the box is deleted) as a visual archive of your progress over time.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change a Gem after it has dropped?

The Gem's appearance is locked once the task is completed based on the task's settings at that time. To ensure your Gems look the way you want, double-check the Life Area and Difficulty before hitting complete.

Why are some Gems bigger than others?

Size is determined by the difficulty you set (Small, Medium, or Large) when you created or edited the task.

Where do the Gems go when I start a new box?

When you switch to a new Gem Box, your old Gems stay safely stored in the previous box. You can revisit them anytime using the box selector at the top of the app.
